Wallace was taken in by the local dog warden as an abuse case. The humane society in Columbus contacted OBHR to request our assistance because he had some typical basset related health issues that made them consider him unadoptable at their shelter. Wallace is between 7-8 years old and already neutered. He is a friendly guy and gets along great with his 11 year old human buddy and the 8 year old male basset in his foster home. Wallace is very food oriented like a lot of bassets. He loves chew bones and can be aggressive about them. Other than this he has done well with everyone including toddlers and smaller children.  The shelter told us that he got along fine with other dogs at the shelter. It is not known about cats. His foster home tells us he is active for his age and thinks he may be a bit younger than they reported. He is housebroken and walks well on a leash. He is also crate trained and will go into his crate sometimes just to rest. His foster home says he is very smart and they have been teaching him some tricks. He does seem to have trouble with stairs but has gotten better after gaining some weight. Because of this we recommend a home with very few stairs. If you think Wallace may be a great addition to your home please complete an adoption application from the OBHR website and note that you are interested in Wallace.
