I never thought I would be saying these words, but I need a home for my Basset, Floyd. This is the very last thing I ever wanted to do but life changes have left me with no job, no money, and now I need to move out of my home. I rescued Floyd from a kill shelter in Cleveland Ohio five years ago. He was in horrible shape and was going to be put down later that day. I rescued him with the intention of finding him a forever happy home after he was healthy again. A sweet elderly lady fell in love with him and she and Floyd spent three wonderful years together before she passed away. Her family was unable to take care of Floyd after her death and contacted me to ask if we could take him back. At ten years of age, Floyd now has some health issues. His teeth aren’t great and he has a growth on his back left leg. I have absolutely no place to keep him, and no money for his health needs. He has been neutered. Floyd's a big old sweetheart with HUGE feet. He's good with other dogs but won't tolerate puppies for very long. He has no food or toy aggressions and has never tempted counter cruising that I know of. He is completely housebroken. Floyd loves to be fussed over - being bathed and fluffed with a towel and combed; and he doesn’t even mind his nails being trimmed or his ears cleaned. Most of all, Floyd just loves to have his belly rubbed. Floyd would make someone a wonderful companion. I live in Lorain, Ohio and must move by the end of March.
