Our Story...

Each of us have had extensive vet care and our bills are reaching thousands of dollars. Frankie was found wandering along the highway in the Columbus area after being hit by a car. He was rescued from the shelter and will require an ACL surgery. Buddy was dumped in an overnight box with a note from his family stating he was a "nuisance to their family". He was limping when OBR picked him up and was also discovered to have a torn ACL. He has underwent surgery and is still under vet care. Amyrellis was rescued from the Meigs county dog pound and tested positive for heart worms. During her treatment she has lost a lot of weight and is just now starting to recover and feel better. Little Millie was rescued from an animal hoarder and had to have hip replacement surgery. She is just now moving around normally, but sadly her other hip will also need replaced. Polly who is not pictured took a very sad turn for the worse. She was a little female rescued from Meigs county who had bad cherry eyes, requiring surgery. Unfortunately, that wasn't Polly's only hurdle. She also tested positive for Parvo, a sure death sentence for young dogs left untreated. She was undergoing vet care and after weeks of struggling, she sadly lost her battle. We hope she has found peace at the rainbow bridge.

Ohio Basset is overwhelmed with vet expenses. The dogs pictured will continue to require vet care until they have fully recovered, costing thousands of dollars. Our adoption fees do not cover the care these and many of our other dogs will require before being placed in a home. Please lets help give these dogs the future they deserve.
