Lily is a 2-3 yr old tri-color female rescued from Montgomery county. Whatever life Lily had before coming into OBR's care didn't look to be a good place. She was skinny and had some nips on her. Regardless, it wasn't getting her down. Her tail is up and she's eager to see what's going to happen next. Lily is very petite and tiny for a basset. She is curious and will pull at the end of the leash trying to take in every experience with a "sniff sniff sniff". Lily wants to give kisses and sit in your lap and prefers this to eating treats. She's very sweet and seems interested in everyone she meets. Lily has just come into OBR's care and is still being evaluated. She is spayed, microchippped, up-to-date on vaccines and on a flea/heart worm prevantive.
Since being in her foster home Lily has been a girl at work to be the basset of the year! She seemingly never had much attention or even a home before, but now she has picked up on how things roll in a household. Her housetraining has improved leaps and bounds in only one week. She has discovered things like chewtoys and the fun of chasing the other dogs through the bushes and around the yard. When it's food time she goes to her 'spot' in the room, and sits until she is given her meal--but the little butt and tail continue to wag and wag on the floor. She knows 'no' and is starting to get 'stay' but her desire to be with her people at all times make this one a challenge. She has been friendly with the other dogs in the house and all visitors. She would love a home where she gets lots of attention so she can learn more and be with you as much as possible.
