Barrett (aka Bernard) was born in OBR's care during the summer of 2010. He thought he had found his forever home with his littermate and lived happily with his family for more than a year. Unfortunately, things didn't go as he hoped. He started to have issues getting along with his brother and the disagreements continued to escalate. Because there was a young child in the home, his family felt they had no choice but to separate the two of them to avoid a dog or their child getting hurt. He was released back to OBHR.
Barrett is taking each day in stride. He would do best in a home without children and someone who could spend a lot of time with him helping to build his confidence. He would make someone a great training partner because he wants to please you. Overall, Barrett seems very insecure and is constantly seeking reassurance that you still love him and can make him safe. He bonds very quickly when he trusts you, but can be very standoffish to people he doesn't know or trust. Barrett is neutered, up-to-date with vaccines, microchipped and on a flea/heartworm preventative. Barrett needs a home that will be able to give him unconditional love and reassurance. Can you be that someone?
