I’m Dickory, a 2-3 yr old Basset, possibly mixed with Cocker Spaniel (at least that’s what the vet said). I am the poster child of beauty in the Basset world. I have a shiny black coat, a white belly with gorgeous black freckles, and I can’t leave out my beautiful, loving brown eyes. I was rescued from a shelter in Dayton with my two brothers, Hickory (posted) and Dock (not posted). Hickory and I had a serious dog fight with those things called heart worms but with those great people from Ohio Basset Rescue helping us out, we beat them like a hound dog on peanut butter.
I still have one more battle to fight and that is finding someone to love me. I’m loyal, loving, and I don’t even hog the bed at night. I bond to one adult and sometimes get protective over them. I’m not good with small kids, but I love playing with other dogs and I even like cats!! I'm now a professional at house breaking and crate training!
I’m not perfect but with a little love, patience and peanut butter I can be your forever friend. My love is free and If you act now I’ll let you rub my belly as much as you want.
